- A list of 32.90 eligible farmers was published on the portal of Mahatma Jotirao Phule scheme for making farmers free from any loan and by today that is July 20th 2020, 27.38lakh farmers have been provided with benefit of a total of Rs. 17,646 crore. Now 83 per cent of the beneficiary account holders have been provided with benefit of the scheme so far.
Implement loan waiver scheme speedier – Chief Minister
Assuring that the last eligible farmer would be provided benefit of the scheme, chief minister Uddhav Thaackeray said that it is required to make the implementation speedier and district collectors should specially look in to this so that remaining farmers are paid their dues.
Process started again
For providing money to eligible farmers a total of 21thousand 467 was needed and Rs. 17thousand 646 crore have been disbursed. The list of beneficiaries has been published at village level through village Panchayat and through branches of banks. In financial year of 2019-20, 19lakh account holder farmers were provided Rs. 11993 crore while in financial year 2020-21 so far amount of Rs. 5653 crore has been deposited in accounts of farmers.
There are 5.52 lakh farmers remaining from this list who would require to take certain validations and after this validation is complete, they would be to avail benefits of this scheme. The money would deposited in to their accounts. Since, there were elections announced in some districts during March 2020 which resulted in to imposition of code of conduct and thereafter it was due to Covid-19 pandemic, farmers in some parts could not avail benefits of the scheme but this process has now been resumed.
