Farmers to be strengthened to make prosperous Maharashtra

The farmers’ traditional know-how of agriculture is amazing. This knowledge should be enhanced with adding new technology and efforts will be made to make them self-reliant. This will, in a way, make Maharashtra a prosperous state, said Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray here today.
 He was speaking at the inauguration of “Krishik 2020” exhibition at Sharadanagar (Malegaon) by Krishi Vigyan Kendra toady.

Chief Minister Thackeray further said that the Krishik exhibition is best with practical experiments. The Baramati Krishi Vigyan Kendra has done commendable work by converting a barren land into a garden. The world is changing fast with the development of technology. Agriculture is the mainstay of our economy and farming is the backbone of our economy. With the increasing population the pressure on natural resources has also increased and it is the farmer that generates food for all.
He further said that we need to plan for making optimum use of water looking into the future needs. With this planning we can enrich our farming. Presently experiments of farming without soil and in air are yielding successful results. Similarly, experiments of vertical farming are also being conducted. Maharashtra will make miracles in farming by conducting innovative experiments. Farmers of Maharashtra will surely guide the farmers of India, he said assuring that
