Demand for 14, 600 crores to the central government for afflicted farmers and flood-hit people in the state - Finance Minister Jayant Patil


Nagpur(timenewsline network)“Around Rs.6,600 crore has been sanctioned by the state government to help farmers affected by the untimely rains in the state, out of which Rs. 2100 crore has been disbursed. The state government has demanded Rs 14,600 crore to the central government to help the flood victims and farmers who faced heavy loss due to untimely rain” stated Finance Minister Jayant Patil. 
He was speaking in the Legislative Assembly while responding to opposition parties when they demanded financial assistance for farmers.
Mr. Patil further informed that allocation of assistance through the state government was underway. Out of the approved Rs 6600 crore, Rs 2100crore had been disbursed through the Collector. The process of depositing the remained balance was in progress.
 “The state government has demanded Rs 7400 crore for the help of flood-hit people and Rs 14,600 crore for the help of the farmers affected by the untimely rains. The state government will give strong support and help to afflicted farmers in the state” promised Finance Minister.
