Number of voters in the state rise by 21 lakhs compared to Lok Sabha polls

Mumbai (time Newsline network) - The number of voters in the state has increased by 21 lakh 15 thousand and 575 after the recently held Lok Sabha elections. The total number of voters in the state which was 8 crore 73 lakh 30 thousand 484 has by August 31st has reached to 8 crores 91 lakh 46 thousand 211.
Election Commission of India (ECI) and office of the chief election officer had made special efforts to increase voting and in the month of July-August special drive for brief review of voters' list was conducted. Special drives were held on holidays so that people can register their names in voter's list. In urban areas, the efforts were made through cooperative housing societies for the same.
There were 4.57 crore 2 thousand 579 male voters and 4 crore16 lakh 25 thousand 819 female voters during the Lok Sabha elections held in the month of March 2019. The final voter's list published on August 31'st 2019 before the assembly elections  has increase in the male voters by 10 lakh 35 thousand 262 taking total number of male voters to 4.67 crores 37 thousand 841. There is rise of 10 lakh 79 thousand 958 in number of female voters taking total number of female voters in the state to 4.27 crores 5 thousand 777.
There were 2086 transgender voters in the state during Lok Sabha elections. This number has also increased now and it has become 2593. There has been a rise of 21 lakh 15 thousand 575 voters in the state as compared to Lok Sabha elections.
