Be careful to avoid the misuse of money during elections

Mumbai, (time Newsline network): “All systems should be vigilant to prevent the misuse of money during the assembly elections in the state” ordered Madhu Mahajan, Special Expenditure Observer for the state.
She was speaking in a review meeting organized here, today.
Principal Secretary and Chief Election Officer Baldev Singh, Additional Chief Election Officer Dilip Shinde, Commissioner of State Excise Department, Prajakta Lavangare-Verma, Transport Commissioner, Shekhar Channe, Commissioner of Goods and Services Tax, A. Shailaja were prominently present in this meeting.
Mahajan further stated that the Income Tax Department, Excise Department and Maharashtra Goods and Services Tax departments should raise the strong and capable to monitoring the use of money and alcohol to influence voters in the elections. They must take strong steps to restrict the illegal transport of alcohol and money. These departments must monitor the cash and money transfers during election planned on 21st October, in the state. Candidates should be closely observed regarding election expenses and the illicit use of money.
The check post conducted by the State Excise Department, Income Tax Department and MGST Department and managements done by Indian Postal Department were also reviewed, on this occasion.
